Amina Muaddi teased a collaboration with Mytheresa.com, the Munich-based e-tailer, during Paris Fashion Week, when a stylish group of influencers, designers and friends of the brand came together to toast the tie-in over a dinner party, wearing the new, sparkly iterations of Muaddi’s now infamous ‘Gilda’ pumps and ‘Lupita’ mules

A lot has changed in the global landscape since then, but Mytheresa is going ahead with the launch on its site tomorrow – following a week’s delay – and giving customers confined to their homes something to get excited about.

Muaddi, one of the hottest footwear designers in the market right now, certainly elicits a lot of excitement among shoe lovers with her bright, feminine creations that have been flying off the shelves ever since she launched her brand, just over a year ago. And she didn’t disappoint this time round either, as she delivered a bold, feel-good capsule all about sparkle, statement silhouettes and bright color.

Inspired by the Eighties, disco and Debbie Harry, Muaddi wanted to create shoes made for dancing and having fun in, so she embraced maximalism in all its glory: Think the ‘Dalida’ extra high platform sandals reworked in a bright blue glitter material; the ‘Gilda’ pumps done in over-the-top yellow leopard print; or the ‘Lupita’ mules customised with a metallic gold front body and neon yellow PVC heel.

Other key styles include a new version of the ‘Begum’ pumpsrenamed Rosie and done in pink PVC and featuring crystal bows instead of the brand’s signature brooch and plenty of strappy sandals in gold, fuchsia and PVC.

Prices range between £460 – £805 or 520€ to 910€.

The capsule will launch alongside a campaign featuring Danish influencer Pernille Teisbaek – chosen by Muaddi for what she represents as a juggling mother and professional – who stepped away from her minimalist Scandi nature and embraced a more-is-more attitude for the occasion, modelling the ‘Dalida’ bright blue sandals in a suit of the same color or pairing feathers with the crystal and glitter ‘Gilda’ sandals

While everyone is putting plans on hold at the moment, there will still be plenty to look forward from Muaddi later in the year including the launch of new product categories, after she teased a pair of very sparkly and very statement earrings on her Instagram last month, and the debut of her first shoe designs for Fenty this summer.
