Non-profit organization Creatives for Lebanon, got together some of the best known faces in the shoe world to raise funds for Beirut.

Following the tragic blasts in the city of Beirut on August 4, many creative communities have come together to help rebuild the city and support the local designers who saw their ateliers smashed into pieces.

Creatives for Lebanon is one such non-profit organization – spearheaded by the likes of jeweler Sabine Getty, Lebanese designer Racil Chalhoub and editor Caroline Issa – and it has just debuted its first charitable initiative: A collection of bespoke or customized fashion pieces, sold on the online marketplace Beirut Re-Store

Full proceeds from the sale will go towards Life Generation USA, a charity which has been working to provide immediate aid in Beirut as well as fund student scholarships.

The team at Creatives for Lebanon opened up their little black books and enlisted an impressive lineup of designers for the project, including some of the shoe world’s favorite names.

Aquazzura’s Edgardo Osorio has created a set of bespoke velvet slippers, embroidered with delicate gold thread; Jennifer Chamandi, who is of Lebanese origins, customized her signature pumps featuring the “needle” stiletto, in a striking red satin; while Christian Louboutin donated a jacquard shoulder bag which contains a private, hand-written note by the designer.

Since my very first visit to Beirut, Lebanon is dear to my heart. Do I need to explain or mention the legendary warmth and the hospitality linked to this country? Those who know and have been to Lebanon, do not need any explanation for loving this country and its inhabitants. And our friends in Beirut need our help now, so let’s act in the name of love, friendship and necessary solidarity,” said Louboutin.

Other designers participating in the initiative include Margherita Missoni, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Dior and Emilia Wickstead. A new drop is also in the works for next month.
