Aquazzura’s Edgardo Osorio is going back to where it all began: The magical Italian island of Capri.
Osorio dreamt up the name ‘Aquazzura’ while spending time in Capri and staring into its bright blue sea. The brand has embodied the island’s carefree, summer spirit ever since and now it has just opened the doors to its own boutique in Capri.
It’s always been my dream to have a shop in my favourite island in the world. There is something magical about this place that makes me happy and I always come back year after year for its amazing energy, great food, and because it’s just a wonderful place to be. I feel I’m living la Dolce Vita when I’m back in my happy place: Capri,” said Osorio.
It was clearly a special opening that called for special attention: Osorio called on the help of renown interior designer Marie-Anne Oudejans and the two created a jewel of a store inspired by the colors and charming landscapes of Capri. There are coral sculptures, bright blue walls, red-and-white striped floors and a striking hand-painted ceiling by the artist Vikas Soni.
To celebrate the opening, there is also a new capsule of summer sandals designed exclusively for the boutique. The collection includes charming flats featuring strawberry-shaped charms or diamanté studs and feel-good, rainbow-colored heeled sandals.
Osorio is also sharing plenty of insider tips for traveling to the island, in a new ‘Capri Guide’ he created as part of the opening celebrations. They range from sipping spicy margaritas at the Hotel Quisisana, chilling at La Fontelina Beach Club and dancing the night away at Anema e Core.
Even if you can’t travel to the Italian Riviera this year, tuck Osorio’s tips under your hat and put this new shoe heaven on your bucket list for the future.
