Christian Louboutin is furthering his message of inclusivity in fashion, with a new genderless capsule, which made its debut during the brand’s spring 2022 presentation at Paris Fashion Week.

Dubbed ‘Our Angels,’ the collection was designed with glam-rock icons in mind hence the array of chunky-heeled, platform boots that has long been associated with rock stars on stage. The only difference is that now more and more people, across gender, are feeling comfortable to wear these glam shoe styles off stage too, incorporating them into their day-to-day life – and Louboutin wants to be part of the narrative.

Cue the ‘Our Angels’ capsule which was designed to be genderless and available across sizes 36 to 46.

These styles are bold and unapologetic, an eloquent celebration of inclusivity and the joy of being one’s authentic self – without compromise, said Louboutin.

The range, which will launch for spring 2022, features classic black leather styles as well as more flamboyant ones done in playful leopard print fabrics or bright yellow suede and featuring intricate crystal embroideries.

“These styles are bold and unapologetic, (designed as) an eloquent celebration of inclusivity and the joy of being one’s authentic self – without compromise,” said Louboutin.

The designer has been strong advocate for inclusivity in fashion, reworking his signature pumps in a plethora of nude shades to suit different skin tones and working with Sabrina and Idris Elba to create a charitable collection whose proceeds went towards anti-racist charities
