A Collaboration About Friendship, Jewels – and Pineapples

The result of the collaboration was unveiled this month: extra large earrings, eccentric headpieces and charm necklaces in the shapes of beetles, which symbolize good luck, hearts and pineapples – to match the gold pineapple logo that we recognise from the soles of Aquazzura shoes. A gold clutch with a bejewelled pineapple-shaped clasp is another standout in the collection.

The pieces in the new range were handcrafted by artisans in Istanbul using 24 Karat gold-plated bronze, crystals, root emeralds and quartz. They are stocked exclusively at Aquazzura boutiques and online, as Edgardo wants to make sure that he keeps his customers engaged and motivated to keep coming back to his stores.

“I normally don’t work on collaborations outside of the shoe field. I wanted to do something that was just about bags and jewels. These are new categories for me and something new the Aquazzura girl doesn’t have yet. I’m constantly looking for ways to inspire my consumers and to find things they don’t expect,” added the designer, who is also plotting a new store opening in the Amalfi coast for next year.
