Copenhagen Fashion Week: The Best Street Style Shoes

5th February 2020

Loud shoes, minimal styling. The Scandi’s do it well.

The Copenhagen fashion week street style scene provided us with just what we wanted, maybe even a little bit more. Muted colours and neutrals dominated the streets, but there was no lack of colour or creative styling. We spotted Khaite’s zebra print boots more than once, and Toteme’s wide shaft, slouchy boots in the same kind of silhouette.

It would not be fashion week 2020 without a healthy overdose of Bottega Veneta. The Square toe mules are set to continue their success with more designers jumping on the band wagon.

Bottega Veneta is leading another key trend for 2020 which is chain detailed shoes. The mesh pumps that sold out everywhere last year has just got a restock and also released in slightly updated version with a heavier chain.

Pointy pumps but no ‘court shoes’ in sight. Bow’s and fringes on pretty pumps in the likes of The Attico and Balenciaga, these are the kinds of shoes that work with most of your outfits.

ARE WE READY FOR THE RETURN OF CLOGS? The street style crowd in Copenhagen sure things so. We do remember them as one of the most comfortable and easy going styles, so don’t knock ‘em until you try ‘em (the updated 2020 version that is).

Amina Muaddi, a new comer in the shoe category but already a fashion week favourite. We predict her pumps and boots will be THE SHOES to own this summer as her colourful styles continues to sell out on sites worldwide.

Riding boots, the 2.0 trend that we’ve seen people move into following the chunky boots trends. A slightly more timeless style, that will edge up any outfit. Some of our favourite styles are from designers permanent collections, which is a good sign.

White boots continued their success and we repeatedly saw them styled with all white and light outfits, with that occasion pop of colour. Style them with skirts or tucked into your trousers, we would go as far as claiming they are a wardrobe staple by now.

More Bottega but hear us out. Padded and quilted styles were the trend of 2019 but the hype continues to the new decade. Boots, pumps and flats – it’s an understated update to your classics.

Fashion week is the time for your most extra shoes and we love how the sparkliest pumps were styled with jeans, relaxed shirts and boyish shorts. The wet streets did not stop the crowd from bringing out their fanciest footwear.

Colour blocking 2.0. This is made possible with either opting for some of the boots below, or by buying a shoe in two colours. Go bold or channel another trend – it’s all about the styling.
