The new Swedish shoe label is every minimalist’s dream.
The up-and-coming Swedish brand is quickly making a name for itself in the shoe world for its chic, understated pieces, particularly its sleek boots for winter and thong sandals for summer – all delivered in neutral shades and featuring sharp, architectural lines.
Some of the highlights include forever pieces like black riding knee boots, barely-there sandals, as well as more directional pieces like bi-color and mesh boots featuring subtle platforms and sharp square toes. Ariana Grande and the Hadid sisters are already fans.
To add to the appeal, the label also offers very competitive price points – prices range from 200 euros for a pair of heeled sandals to 580 euros for a pair of tall boots.
Like many young businesses, the brand also makes sustainability a priority: It works with European factories to keep travel and the brand’s carbon footprint low; it’s also removed all plastics from its packaging; and often donates to women’s rights organisations.
I want to do more than just pretty shoes. Throughout history, women have made their voices heard through fashion. I want to work actively with the Anny Nord brand through different design projects and collaborations to support women’s equal rights and to help make our voices heard,” said Mia Bencker, the label’s founder and creative director who grew up in her family’s shoe store since the Sixties and named her label after her grandmother.
The Anny Nord Instagram feed is a great starting point to get better acquainted with Bencker’s ethos and quintessentially Scandinavian aesthetics – expect black and white imagery galore, inspiration from nature and even some adorable cat photos.
