Copenhagen’s rising star had one of the strongest shoe edits during Fashion Week.
Copenhagen Fashion Week kicked off this week with an array of Scandi labels presenting joyful, upbeat collections filled with colorful prints, bold layers — and lots of statement shoes.
Danish label Custommade, a newcomer to Copenhagen’s fashion calendar, is one of the labels worth keeping an eye out for and adding to your follow list. The brand has been around since 2002 but has recently undergone a major revamp and is now ready to take on the fashion market by storm.
Why is this news worth your attention? Firstly, the brand offers top-notch, luxury quality for accessible – or “honest” as the Danes call it – price points. It also has a dreamy aesthetic all about feminine separates, cool tailoring and just the right amount of sparkle, as well as a strong focus on the shoes. Some of its signatures, shown during its fall 2020 presentation this week, include statement pieces such as bow-embellished velvet mules in delicious candy colors and highly photogenic boots like a black satin pair with crystal embellishments on the toe or a zebra-print cowboy style. You can see them all up close on the brand’s Instagram feed, where shoes make frequent appearances and are particularly popular with the brand’s growing community.
For an added dose of inspiration, it’s also worth heading over to the account of the brand’s head of PR Therese Hellstrom or @tesshell, who shows you what goes on behind the scenes when preparing for fashion week, models some of the trendiest, soon-to-be-released pieces and snaps some gorgeous travel photos along the way too.
