The Milanese label is best known for its whimsical shoes and optimistic spirit.

The last decade a new wave of young creatives have been injecting fresh energy and a renewed vision in the Milanese fashion scene.

Giannico’s Nicolo Beretta is one of them: He founded Giannico in 2013 and has made a name for himself for offering whimsical shoes all about sparkly details, pop colours and modern interpretations of classic silhouettes from kitten heels to pointed-toe slippers – basically if Marie Antoinette was still around, she would be Beretta’s best customer.

His actual customer base does not disappoint either: Over the years, the young designer has built a dedicated customer base of women who love decadence and all things glamour, including the likes of Lena Perminova, Giovanna Engelbert and Olivia Palermo.

You can get a better taste of the world of the #Giannicoladies on the label’s Instagram feed, where the brand shares some of their best moments wearing Giannico shoes. Most recently, Engelbert poses in front of the new concept store she designed for Swarovski – she is their new creative director – in a dramatic Richard Quinn floral-print coat and satin Giannico platform sandals featuring the label’s signature crystal brooch.

Expect to also find Beretta’s charming shoe illustrations and cinematic photography, featuring closeup shots of the shoes next to Martini glasses or luxe interiors objects – a great source of escapism and the easiest way to get a taste of the brand’s fantasy world, before taking the plunge and buying the shoes.

It’s also worth keeping Giannico on your ‘follow’ list to stay up to date with all its new collections – including the newly launched spring 2021 range filled with metallic, crystal-embellished sandals which bring mermaids and all things fantasy to mind.

The designer is also keeping the optimism and upbeat spirit alive for next fall too, with a collection he presented during Milan Fashion Week last week, featuring party-ready metallic pink boots, python embossed pumps, and a new chunky sneaker made more glamours with feminine, wrap-around ankle straps.
