The Florentine label is proving to be the ultimate source of creativity, escapism – and resilience.
If you’re up for a virtual escape to the beach, look no further than the Instagram feed of Florentine accessories label Les Petits Joueurs. There you’ll find close-ups of the brand’s spring 2020 shell-embellished mesh pumps shot against imaginary, bright sunsets or the label’s stylish designer Mariasole Cecchi posing in front of her mirror with a large coral-shaped clutch.
Each piece usually comes with its fair share of sparkle: from the large crystals on the geometric brooches of pumps, to the crystal fringe on sandals and the gold embroidered shells on the summer lace-up styles. It’s this flair for bold, decadent pieces that made LPJ amass a following of women with bold style and even bolder personalities, including the likes of Bella Hadid, Irina Shayk and Chrissey Teigen.
But beyond its bold, sparkly aesthetic, what makes following the brand even more special right now, is the human, personable touch Mariasole and her brother Andrea have been applying, during these unprecedented times. Giving the limited access to resources at the moment, Mariasole has been getting creative and shooting all the dreamy spring 2020 images shared on the brand’s Instagram by herself at home. She has also been keeping her current-season stock at home and shipping online orders directly to her customers.
Having had to cancel multiple appointments for the presentation of their new collection, the brother-sister duo also brought the showroom to their community via a short-and-sweet IGTV video where, with the view of Florence in the background, they offer a sneak peak into their fall 2020 collection: Art Deco references, zebra glitter pumps and color-block sock boots.
It’s an admirable example of how to keep going despite the setbacks – and the shoes, in all their maximalist glory, look fabulous too.
