Manolo Blahnik has just released its much-anticipated collaboration with Birkenstock.
The German orthopaedic sandals have been quickly becoming a luxury staple – given blockbuster collaborations with Proenza Schouler, Rick Owens, and Dior Men’s in the last two years. The tie-in with Blahnik is solidifying this new status and amassing big waiting lists across luxury retailers, from Net-a-Porter to Mytheresa.
Blahnik has been a fan of Birkenstock for decades and has been known to wear his Arizona sandals while working around his studio for years. At the beginning of 2020 he made headlines for appearing in a Birkenstock campaign with his niece and CEO of his company, Kristina.
Now, the relationship between the two brands is taken to a whole new level with a capsule which offered the renown shoemaker the opportunity to add his flair for glamour and embellishment on the classic Birkenstock Arizona sandals and Boston clogs. He updated them with sumptuous cobalt blue and pink velvet fabrics and added a touch of feel-good sparkle with his signature crystal brooches.

Birkenstocks have been in. my wardrobe since the beginning (of time!). I have loved and worn mine for many years and I’m thrilled to have been able to collaborate, fusing the Manolo Blahnik aesthetic with the everyday comfort of Birkenstocks. It’s simply wonderful,” said the famous shoe designer.
Even though not obvious at first glance, Kristina Blahnik also added that the two shoe brands share the same appreciation for “timeless, high quality design” and worked together to create pieces that will be kept in women’s closets for years to come.
Prices range between 460 pounds to 560 pounds and can be found on Manolo Blahnik’s London store and website; Birkenstock’s 1774.com site; and all major retailers like LuisaViaRoma, Net-a-Porter and Mytheresa.
