Alfredo Piferi is a shoe veteran, who cut his teeth at Jimmy Choo and Burberry.
It’s been a season of few launches and many cancellations amid Coronavirus fears, but this week shoe veteran Alfredo Piferi offered a more optimistic piece of news with the launch of his new namesake shoe brand: Piferi.
Given the designer’s impressive CV, having worked as Jimmy Choo’s head designer and also held positions at the likes of Burberry, the brand is already gaining ground in the shoe world.
Piferi will also be taking the sustainable route with his label and working with vegan leather only – another exciting development, given that to date, vegan shoe brands have primarily focused on sneakers and generally less sexy styles.
Piferi is here to change those presumptions and offer “vegan shoes made divine.”
He took to Instagram to announce the launch, sharing an image of a model wearing a skin-toned bodysuit and barely there sandals featuring a curved heel, designed to resemble the stem of a flower.
“Our journey starts here,” he wrote, without revealing too many details aside from his debut sandal style and the brand’s millennial pink-hued logo.
He will also be introducing other accessories to go with his footwear, including frilly, detachable socks made from recycled nylon and shiny lurex.
The idea is to embrace fantasy and all things feminine – a formula that is bound to serve him well, given women’s soft spot for over-the-top shoes.
The feminine and surreal dream always inspire our creations,” said Piferi.
The brand will make its official debut this May, with a pop-up store in Harrods that will stay open for the entire month.
