Nothing says spring like pastels. They’re the wardrobe equivalent of daffodils in bloom, the sartorial answer to a cold Mr Whippy on a warm, sunny day. Is there a better sound than the slap of a sandal on a sun-soaked pavement? Not unless it’s a pistachio green Bottega mule – set to be the soundtrack to our summer. If violet and lemon-yellow sound a bit too ‘girly’ to you, team with mustard tailoring, forest greens and dark denim. The perfect antidote to a pastel overload, tonal layering is the fashion girl’s way of stopping the sweet from becoming saccharine. Alternatively, embrace the ‘80s aesthetic in washed-out jeans and strawberry pink heels – a look Molly Ringwald would be proud of. From dulce de leche Bottega mules to delicate berry hues – tell us, what flavour are you?
If we were to put responsibility for the popularity of green shoes at the feet of any label, it would be Bottega Veneta. The feted fashion house has flooded our IG feeds with shoes in every colour in the ice cream display. We’re lapping up mint choc chip and pistachio shades by Wandler, Prada and Manu Atelier, too.

Shoes Ben and Jerry could get on board with, whether it’s the bon bon pink of a strawberry scoop or a deeper shade of raspberry ripple. Look to Gucci, By Far and Prada for shoes that look good enough to lick. Would you like a flake with that?
SHOP BERRY COLOURED SHOES
Who would have thought that melon sorbet and banana splits would be our primary sources of fashion inspiration this spring? Soft yellows and shades of clotted cream combined with striking silhouettes give these Miu Miu, Gianvito Rossi and Bottega shoes a contemporary, feminine look. Anything but vanilla.
