The Return Of The Biker Boots

12th September 2021

Boots are back! Lace-up or pull-on but definitely chunky. These are the coolest pairs to invest in this fall.

Is it just us or did we move into boots season over night? While we never really got to live the summer we planned, we are surprisingly eager to move into a fresh fall wardrobe – sooner rather than later. While the combination of woolly knits and OTK boots feels like a great idea for the coming week, we want to make the most of the transseason. What’s perfect for that you ask? Boots! Boots with bare legs, boots with jeans and a nice top, boots with dresses, boots with everything.

This season is special (to say the least). We style our loungewear like suits, masks have replaced bags as the number one accessory and the boots that excited us last year are back. This is great news for everyone that invested in last season’s chunky biker trend – but also to the ones that missed out on those sold-out-over-night boots (we don’t blame you).

This season’s trends are heavy duty, practical and the kind of boots that allow you to get on with the more important things in life. Styling, obviously up to your liking, but there is not many get-ups that the bikers will not compliment – dreamy dresses and suits included. The classic, lace-up biker boots will never date, however this season you might want to think more ‘hiker’ than ‘biker chic’.

Another similar style is the chunky Chelsea (not the first nor last time you’ll hear about this style). The pull-ons that also grew into monstrous proportions is a style you’ll see everywhere this season, not a bad thing if you are still shopping around for the perfect fit or colour. Equally cool as the above mentioned combat boots – however this slightly more minimal approach looks especially great worn over trousers.

If you are somewhere in between a pull on and lace up, a sleek’n’chunky zipper Chelsea might be your best bet. Undoubtedly lead by the now iconic leather pair by The Row but other designers have embraced this versatile style, too. Perfectly snug on the ankle allows a bit more versatility on the styling, making this pair ideal for some bare ankles and skinnier trousers, not to mention no extra lace-up time or shoehorns required this time.
