SHOP JIMMY CHOO X BILLY PORTER
Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi loves inviting her stylish friends into the brand’s colourful shoe world.
The latest to join in the fun is actor and performer Billy Porter, who has curated a new capsule collection just in time for Pride Month.
The collection captures Porter’s exuberant, gender-fluid style – he is known to sit on front rows around the world in towering platforms, larger-than-life capes and sequins galore – with a series of signature Choo silhouettes given the Porter treatment with bright colours, bold touches of gold and plenty of animal print.
There are the ‘Britney’ extra high ankle boots in warm red and orange suedes; ‘Love’ classic stiletto heels; block-heel booties in metallic leather or animal-print; and dandy-like loafers, dubbed ‘Foxley’ and featuring playful tassel embellishments.
The shoes are offered on a wide size range – EU36 to 45 – to cater to a larger audience, in line with Porter’s ethos of inclusion and feeling free to wear any heel height you want, no matter your gender.
As a gender neutral collection, my goal is to free folks from the chains that bind authenticity on all levels,” said Billy Porter, who is known for his appearances in films like Cinderella, American Horror Story and Anastasia.

This line is dedicated to my mother, whose biggest dream as a disabled woman was to be able to walk in a pair of high heeled shoes. She never got to achieve that dream, but I get to stand in proxy for her for all the world to see. My mother is the personification of the power of what true unconditional love looks like,” he added.
Choi added that this capsule is meant as a celebration of “equality and acceptance,” which is why Choo is also planning to support The Trevor Project as part of collaboration, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth with a donation of $100,000.
“Fashion allows us all to dream and there should be no boundary to who can experience the transformative effect of stepping into a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes,” added Choi.
The collection is available to pre-order on Jimmy Choo’s website and prices range from 525 pounds to 850 pounds.
